After spending his formative years overseas, David Johnson had an early career in the British Army before moving into the international telecoms industry occupying positions in sales, marketing and general management.
In 1990 he joined Tyzack & Partners, a leading senior executive search company and as a member of the management executive, was responsible for the Leeds operation. He joined Whitehead Mann in 2002, as a senior member of their highly-respected industrial and commercial search practice, and simultaneously was tasked with establishing Whitehead Mann as a leading search brand in the Middle East.
David has developed a specialist knowledge and firsthand experience of family businesses which now embraces the whole range of family and business governance, the recruitment of non-family executives into family businesses and Family Offices, and succession planning and preparation of Next Generations. For 6 years he held the position as Chairman of a Family Council for a very significant UK family business.
His family business work has culminated in the recent award by The Family Business Place for ‘Best Family Business Advisor of 2013’.
He is a graduate of Durham University with an Honours degree in Geography and Anthropology.
